Terms of service

Last updated 5 August 2026.

These terms govern your use of buildstory.online and any engagement with BuildStory. Where a signed scope of work or proposal exists, that document takes precedence over anything here that conflicts with it.

1. Use of this website

Content on this site is provided for general information. You may read, print and share it. You may not republish it as your own, scrape it at scale, or use it to train commercial models without written permission.

2. No professional advice

Articles and guides on this site describe general practice in India as we understand it at the time of writing. Tax, company law and regulatory positions change. Nothing here constitutes legal, tax, financial or accounting advice for your specific situation. Engage a qualified professional — including us, under a scope of work — before acting.

3. Engagements and scope

Work begins only after a written scope of work is agreed. It sets out deliverables, timelines, assumptions and price. Anything outside it is a change request, quoted separately before work starts. Timelines assume you supply required content, documents, access and approvals within agreed windows.

4. Fees and payment

Project work is typically billed 50% in advance and the balance on delivery, unless the scope states otherwise. Retainers are billed monthly in advance. Government fees, statutory charges, third-party licences, ad spend and hosting are payable by you directly or reimbursed at cost, and are never marked up. All fees are exclusive of GST, which is charged at the applicable rate. Invoices are due within 7 days.

5. Client responsibilities

You confirm that content, images, logos and documents you supply are yours to use, and that the information you provide for statutory filings is accurate. We are not liable for consequences arising from inaccurate information supplied to us, or from delays in providing documents.

6. Ownership

On full payment, ownership of final deliverables created specifically for you — designs, source code, copy, brand assets — transfers to you. Domains, hosting, ad accounts, analytics and CRM data are registered in your name from the outset. We retain ownership of our pre-existing frameworks, tools and methodologies, and the right to reference the work in our portfolio unless you ask us in writing not to.

7. Outcomes

We do not guarantee search rankings, traffic volumes, lead counts, revenue or approval timelines for statutory applications, since these depend on factors outside our control including search engine algorithms, market conditions and government processing. We commit to the deliverables and standard of work set out in the scope.

8. Third-party services

Some deliverables depend on third-party platforms such as Google, Meta, WhatsApp, hosting providers and government portals. Their availability, policies, pricing and processing times are outside our control.

9. Cancellation

Retainers may be cancelled by either party with 30 days' written notice. Project work cancelled mid-delivery is billable for work completed to that point. Advance payments are non-refundable once work has commenced, though we will complete or hand over whatever the payment covered.

10. Confidentiality

Each party will keep the other's non-public business information confidential and use it only for the purpose of the engagement. This survives the end of the engagement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees paid to us for that engagement in the preceding three months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or business interruption.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction.
