A professional website in Mumbai costs roughly ₹25,000 to ₹1,50,000 for a business site, ₹75,000 to ₹4,00,000 for a corporate or catalogue site, and ₹1,50,000 upwards for e-commerce. The main cost drivers are the number of pages, whether design is custom or templated, whether content is written for you, and how much functionality sits behind the pages.
Real price bands for business, corporate and e-commerce websites in Mumbai, what changes the number, and the costs quotes usually leave out.
The honest price bands
A single landing page costs ₹10,000 to ₹25,000. A 6 to 10 page business website with written content, mobile-first design and lead capture runs ₹25,000 to ₹75,000. Corporate and catalogue sites with product families, downloads and multiple audiences run ₹75,000 to ₹4,00,000. E-commerce with payments, inventory and shipping integration starts around ₹1,50,000 and climbs with catalogue complexity. Custom web applications are quoted separately because they are software projects, not websites.
What actually moves the number
Four things. Page count, because every page needs structure, copy and testing. Design origin, because a custom design costs three to four times a customised template and is worth it only when your category is crowded. Content, because if you are not writing it, someone is billing for it. And functionality — a booking engine, dealer login or payment flow adds development weeks that design mockups do not reveal.
The costs quotes leave out
Domain and hosting are usually annual and separate: budget ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 a year for a business site. Photography, if you need it, is a real line item. Content updates after launch are either your time or a maintenance plan. And migration work — redirects, SEO preservation, moving old content — is often quoted as an extra when it should be part of any redesign.
Where cheap becomes expensive
The ₹8,000 website is genuinely available and occasionally the right call for a business testing an idea. It becomes expensive when it is built on a heavy template that cannot be optimised, when the developer keeps the domain in their own name, or when nothing about the page structure allows it to ever rank. If you plan to run ads to the site or invest in SEO, the foundation matters more than the sticker price.
A sensible way to decide
Work backwards from one enquiry. If a new client is worth ₹40,000 to you, a ₹60,000 website that produces two enquiries a month pays for itself in the first quarter. If your average order is ₹1,200 and you sell on volume, spend less on the site and more on the ads and listing that drive footfall. The right budget is a function of what an enquiry is worth, not of what agencies quote.
